Dear Montbello High School Community,
We deeply value our partnership with our school community and are committed to maintaining transparency. We are writing today to share an important leadership update for Montbello High School for the upcoming school year.
Principal Neisa Lynch will be stepping down from her role as principal of Montbello High School. We extend our sincere gratitude to Principal Lynch for her dedication and service to the Montbello community. During her time as principal, she played a vital role in the successful opening of the new state-of-the-art Montbello campus in 2024 and helped guide students, families and staff through that exciting transition. Her leadership and commitment have made a lasting impact on the school community.
Given the timing of this announcement and the need to plan for the upcoming school year, we are pleased to announce that current Assistant Principal Fred Harris will serve as Interim Principal effective immediately. Mr. Harris brings a wealth of experience serving Denver Public Schools students as both an educator and school leader. We are confident in his ability to lead Montbello High School in a way that continues ensuring students thrive during this transitional period.
To ensure continued success for the community, Principal Lynch will remain at Montbello High School for the 2026-2027 school year, working closely with Mr. Harris and district leadership to support a smooth transition for students, families, and staff.
In October, we will work with the community to engage in the principal selection process to hire the long-term leader. This process is one of the most important decisions we make in supporting high-quality schools. We will engage with the community in the coming months to assist us in this vital decision. We are grateful for the partnership and commitment of the Montbello community.
Thank you for your continued support of Montbello High School and for your partnership as we move through this transition together.
Sincerely,
Donald Reynolds
