The mission of the Montbello High School Gifted and Talented Program is to provide a challenging and stimulating educational environment that meets the unique needs of gifted and talented (GT) students. We believe that all students have the potential to achieve great things, and we are committed to helping our students reach their full potential.
Our program will:
Support students with an annual Advanced Learning Plan (ALP) that allows GT students to identify an academic goal and a personal goal, as well as a mentor who supports their goal progress throughout the year.
Provide options for rigorous courses—such as concurrent enrollment (CE), advanced placement (AP), and Honors courses—that allow students to explore their interests and talents in depth.
Connect students to real-world opportunities in and out of school, including resources like the Future Center, mentorships, internships, field trips, college tours, and more.
Offer opportunities for students to collaborate with peers through participation in theater, art, organizations, clubs, and athletics to promote creativity and innovation.
Support the social and emotional development of our students, so that they can thrive in school and beyond.
Communicate upcoming deadlines and opportunities via the Montbello GT Schoology group.
